Liturgy: Ordinary 9, Year A
Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A
In the name of the +Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Grace, mercy and peace from God Our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit be with you all
and also with you
O look at me and be merciful, for I am wretched and alone. See my hardship and my poverty, and pardon all my sins. [Psalm 25:16, 18
My dear friends in Christ, we come together this morning to worship Almighty God in word and sacrament, and to build our faith on the solid rock of Christ.
We pray for the life, work and witness of the parish, and pray that when the floods come in our lives, as they surely must, we will have the faith and the fortitude to be unscathed.
For that, we must dig deep, engage in our faith and build a strong foundation. Key to that is recognising what prevents us from coming to God.
So let us made amends by recognising and confessing our sins.
I confess…
The Collect
Let us pray
Father,
Your love never fails.
Hear our call.
Keep us from danger
And provide for all our needs.
We make our prayer through Jesus Christ, your Son
Who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia.
I am the vine, you are the branches says the Lord.
Whoever remains in me, with me in him,
Bears fruit in plenty
All Alleluia.
The Peace
God has made us one in Christ.
He has set his seal upon us
and, as a pledge of what is to come,
has given the Spirit to dwell in our hearts.
The peace of the Lord be always with you
and also with you
Let us offer one another the sign of peace.
Prayer after Communion
Lord
As you give us the body and blood of your Son,
Guide us with your Spirit,
That we may honour you
Not only with our lips
But also with the lives we lead
And so enter your kingdom.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, the Lord.
Amen
Blessing
The Lord be with you
And also with you
The peace of God,
which passes all understanding,
keep your hearts and minds
in the knowledge and love of God,
and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord;
and the blessing of God almighty,
the +Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be among you and remain with you always.
All Amen.
The mass is ended. Go in the peace of Christ.
All Thanks be to God.
