If you (like me) have struggled to get recordings straight to camera done without a million outtakes, Elegant Teleprompter is a cheap and very effective app which gives you a teleprompter overlaying your Android video camera screen. You can speed it up and slow it down, or even pause it with a tap.
The free version enables you to load a plain text file, which you can create on the phone, drop from eMail, or most easily just load from Dropbox. The full version is only £3.99 and enables you to load a Microsoft Word document and is so worth it. At that price it’s a real bargain. I highly commend it to you.

I am sure there must be an equivalent for fruit-based phones, but I don’t do that – you’re on your own you hipsters
