Fr. Simon’s Easyworship Remote Control

My second Android Application

There are times when you need to control Easyworship yourself – in schools or in small group worship settings.

You can down this from the Google Play Store PHOTO_20160716_123340here

I wrote this client to interact with my PC-based Server Program which can be downloaded from Here

You will need to download and install that software on your Easyworship PC. It has been completely rewritten in Java and is much better than the previous version.

This enables you to operate Easyworship when both client and server are connected on the same WiFi network: moving through slides and schedule items, blanking and clearing the screen and controlling the master volume (on Windows 7 and 8 PCs). The App sends keystrokes to Easyworship and so does not prevent a user from controlling Easyworship in the usual way from its keyboard, but means that someone within wifi range can run the system. The emphasis now is on

This software was for his own use by Fr. Simon Rundell SCP (simon@rundell.org.uk) and is now made available to others as PRAYERWARE: Available without cost or charge except that your prayers are asked for Fr. Simon and the Roborough Team Ministry, Plymouth http://www.roborough.org.uk

Hi Fr Simon, I’m tantalisingly close – have downloaded server and the app, but it doesn’t seem to like the default server/port configuration. Do you have any guidance on setting those up?

I have checked firewall and added ew_server. The error message I’m getting (on the app) is: ‘Connection problem to 192.168.1.3:50911 with error: android.system.GaiException: android_getaddrinfo failed: EAI_NODATA (no address associated with host name)’

Let me start by thanking you for writing this program, it is exactly what we need. I am having an issue with the app portion. I get it to connect and can change slides with an up/down arrow, but don’t have any of the functionality you show in the video. Also the whole center of the screen on my phone is just filled with the logo for the app. Any suggestions?

Ok now I’ve downloaded the nicer-looking Java version of EWServer, and getting this error message: ‘ERROR: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind Please restart Easyworship Server’. Any interpretation/tech help much appreciated… It looks so great in the video!
